A Kent town has been named one of the worst places in the UK for car vandalism.
The Maidstone postcode of ME18, which includes Yalding, Laddingford, Wateringbury, and Mereworth, ranked ninth in a list of the nation's hot spots.
Around one in four Brits has been a victim of this type of crime with the worst areas affected in Nottingham, and Edinburgh according to official claims data from Churchill Car Insurance.
But it's not just victims examined by the figures, one is six admit to wanting to vandalise someone else's car. Of those, one in three would choose to target their neighbour's car first, according to 33% of those surveyed, and their ex-partner's vehicle second at 28%.
Unsurprisingly, using car covers, putting vehicles in garages, installing cameras, and parking in well let streets are believed to be the best ways of avoiding being targeted.
The insurance firm says that parking on driveways and installing CCTV can be effective solutions but, considering who most people would target first, also recommends making friends with your neighbours.
