A 68-year-old woman from Kent is in a serious condition in hospital after being hit by a car while on a visit to the war graves from the First World War.
The woman is believed to have been with a party travelling with coach company Streamline Travel (Kent) when the accident happened.
She had just visited a military cemetery in the neighbourhood of the Hooge Crater Museum at Ypres in Belgium and was crossing the Ypres-Menin Road, but failed to see an approaching car.
The victim, who has been named locally as Gillian Rolls, is still in hospital in Belgium where her condition is said to be serious.
The 22-year-old car driver, a local woman from Zonnebeke, was unharmed.
The accident happened at around 10.15 on Friday morning. Streamline has so far been unable to provide further details.
