ACTOR and former pop singer Adam Faith, who died at the weekend, had been making plans to move to a new home in Tudely, near Tonbridge.

Mr Faith had only fairly recently moved into the village. He bought Park Farm, which consisted of a rambling, but rather decayed farmhouse, a barn and several cottages, from the Summerhill estate last August.

The performer, whose many careers included property investment, had not been able to move into his new home and was staying in rented accommodation close by while it was being rennovated.

June Derbyshire, chairman of nearby Capel Parish Council said: "We all thought it was wonderful when we heard we had a celebrity in our midst, but he hadn't yet become very involved in the community.

"Whether he would have done, once he had settled into his house, we shall now never know."

The singer suffered a heart attack last Friday shortly after completing a performance of Love and Marriage at the Regent Theatre, Stoke on Trent. He was taken to North Staffordshire Hospital where he died early on Saturday morning. He was 62.
