There are queues on a busy route in and out of a town this evening due to a crash involving two vehicles.

Southbound traffic was blocked earlier on the A229 at Linton Hill in the Maidstone area just after 6pm.

It followed an accident between the B2163 Heath Road and Wheelers Lane.

Police said there had been a two-car crash shortly before 5pm but there were no reported injuries.

A spokesman said: “It is taking a little while to sort out the vehicles involved, but hopefully it will be clear shortly.”
