Rookie jet ski racer Khris Leach has landed a national title in his first season.

Leach, from Maidstone, won the final two races of the AquaX series at Weymouth Bay to pip reigning champion Duncan Johnston by just two points in the 200 class.

The 39-year-old said: "I am thrilled to have won a national title in my first season racing on the sea and it feels like a dream come true.

"I have been getting quicker all year but to have won the last two races of the season and grabbed the title is just a fantastic feeling."
