A Danny Hockton penalty earned 10-man Maidstone a 1-1 draw at Kingstonian in the Ryman League Premier Division on Saturday.
Both sides had early chances with Adrian Stone firing over and Antonio Gonnella curling a shot wide for Stones.
It had been an even affair when Kingstonian took the lead after 24 minutes.
Matt Gray’s header from a deep cross floated over stranded Stones keeper Andy Walker and into the net.
Three minutes later Hockton blazed the ball over the bar from a good position then Stone hit the post and Kingstonian keeper Rob Tolfrey pulled off a great save to deny Gonnella.
Kingstonian were the better side second half and the Stones equalised from their first real pressure.
Rob Lyall’s shot was charged down by hand of Simon Hucket and a penalty was awarded which Hockton (pictured) converted on 68 minutes.
Stones had to contend with the sending off of Chris Saunders for two yellow cards on 74 minutes but were able to see the game out.
Tonbridge’s outside hopes of breaking into the Ryman League Premier Division play-offs were ended by a 2-0 defeat at Aveley on Saturday.
Martin Tuohy and Sam Lechmere got the goals that ensured Tommy Warrilow’s side ended their season in defeat.
