The power of pink will be with Leeds Castle and hundreds of fundraisers when the first Pink Ribbon Walk is staged there in June.
It might not see the castle itself literally wrapped in the colour, but the crowds of people taking part in the Breast Cancer Care walk might do so, in honour of the day.
This is Kent’s first time hosting the day and the date for the diary is Saturday, June 8.
The walkers will also be in for a treat as kmfm’s own Rob Wills and Emma Saint will be spreading the party atmosphere through the grounds.
The pair, who present kmfm’s breakfast show, will be on site during the day, with Emma taking part in the 10-mile walk, and speaking to others as they get involved, while Rob will be entertaining the crowds.
To prepare for their part in the day in two months’ time, they donned enough ribbon to wrap around the castle, and took a look inside and outside its walls.
Emma said: “We are both really excited to be involved and it’s such a good cause.
“Hopefully the weather will be good and there will be lots of people taking part. We are currently thinking about our weird and wacky pink outfits and can’t wait for the big day.”
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK.
Pink Ribbon walks are supported by model Penny Lancaster-Stewart, who said: “I have walked it three times now and have loved every single one!
“It is so much fun and I always know that I am going to have a great day out.”
She walks in memory of a close friend.
The day will include a village fete, barbecue, massage, entertainment and a medal. It costs £30 to register, with walkers required to raise a minimum of £175 in sponsorship.
Nationally the walks raised more than £1 million last year.
