Martin Waller: Brookland Lake searched in hunt for missing man

A 54-year-old man has been found safe and well following an overnight search of Brookland Lake, Snodland.

Crews began searching the popular fishing spot yesterday after Martin Waller, 54, disappeared.

Mr Waller, from Maidstone, was last seen in the St Michael’s Road area of the town on Saturday.

A police spokesman said: "A 54-year-old man reported missing from the Maidstone area this weekend has been found safe and well. Thanks to all for your help."

He was found in Maidstone town centre at 12.45pm.

It is believed that Mr Waller had since been in the area of Brookland Lake. The site is close to the A228.

Officers searched the area with the support of crews from Kent Fire and Rescue Service and Kent Search and Rescue.

Mr Waller was described as being approximately 5ft 7in and of medium build with a little weight around his stomach.

He has short, white hair, blue eyes and a scorpion tattoo on his right wrist.

When he was last seen he is reported to have been wearing a tweed style short beige jacket and a beige/ brown flat cap.
