CHRIS LANGHAM: due to enter pleas tomorrow

THE first day of a crown court trial involving award-winning actor Chris Langham on 27 sex charges has been delayed by legal arguments.

The 57-year-old star, from Golford, near Cranbrook, faces 10 charges of indecently assaulting a teenage girl between January 8 1996 and April 7 1998, two other serious sexual offences and 15 of making indecent photographs of a child between September and November 2005.

Langham, who won a BAFTA in May last year for his role in the BBC comedies The Thick Of It and Help, is due to enter pleas to the charges at Maidstone Crown Court tomorrow morning.

A jury will then be sworn in and Richard Barraclough, QC, will open the case for the prosecution and call evidence.
