FIREFIGHTERS were called to a house after lightning struck the roof causing a large hole.

One crew from Maidstone was called to the house in Wytherling Close, Weavering, near Maidstone, at about 9.50pm on Tuesday. They spent about 90 minutes at the scene.

The strike affected the electricity supply to the house and neighbouring properties.
