Detling Showground near Maidstone is to welcome 2,800 children from more than 50 schools tomorrow as it plays host to Living Land.
Organised by the Kent County Agricultural Society, it is a one-day event teaching primary school children about farming, agriculture, horticulture, the countryside and where food comes from.
It is the first time it will be held in person in two years due to the pandemic - last year it moved online.
Those attending will get the chance to try their hands at making their own apple juice, milking a cow and learn how a sheep's wool becomes a jumper.
Live Birds of prey performances will demonstrate how they can be used as an eco-friendly pest deterrent and animal displays will allow children to meet lambs, goats and cows.
There will also be displays of vintage and modern tractors to show just how much farming has changed over the years.
The event is part of the Kent County Agricultural Society’s wider initiative to encourage education and development in farming, including a scholarship scheme and funding for Kent Young Farmers’ Clubs.
