The footbridge next to the Lockmeadow Complex, in Barker Road, will close for two weeks on Monday, September 2.
The closure is being put in place for structural checks, cleaning, redecoration and electrical repairs to lighting.
Residents and visitors are advised to use the bridge in The Broadway during this maintenance period.
