Police are warning that eight bottles of a commercial cleaning agent taken from the doorstep of a house in Snodland could be dangerous.
The white plastic bottles stolen from Cooper Road on Wednesday, November 30, each contained five litres of a corrosive oven cleaner, and had the word Brawn printed on the side.
Sgt Kevin Brigden said: "The bottless contain a caustic gel which burns and causes scarring if it comes into contact with skin. It would also cause very serious problems if swallowed.
"We are concerned that whoever stole the bottles may have dumped them after realising they are not going to be worth much to sell on.
"The containers could be found by children or someone not realising how dangerous they could be. The gel is clear and odourless, so it’s not obvious it is extremely harmful."
He urged anyone who came across the bottles, which were in two cardboard boxes when they were stolen, not to touch them but to contact police immediately on the new non-emergency number 101.
