Police have been called to the scene of a lorry crash this morning.

The incident, which happened at 7am, saw the vehicle leave the coastbound carriageway of the M20 between Junction 8 for Leeds and Junction 9 for Ashford and enter a ditch.

One lane of the motorway was closed while Kent Police and highways officials assessed the scene.

The stretch of road is now fully open but a section of hard shoulder is closed while the lorry is salvaged.

It is not known what caused the accident, which involved no other vehicles and resulted in no injuries.
