Motorists faced disruption this afternoon after a lorry crashed into an embankment on the M20.

One lane was closed near Leeds Castle in Maidstone between junctions 9 and 8 on the London-bound carriageway following the accident just after noon.

The truck suffered a blow-out and overturned.

For several hours only two lanes remained open, with traffic stretching back for a mile.

A police spokesman said no injuries were reported.

All lanes have reopened.
