A lorry driver was left in a tight squeeze this morning, after the trailer became wedged into a warehouse.
The accident happened at R&B Star Electrical Wholesalers in the Nimbus Enterprise Park in Liphook Way at around 9am, and was still causing chaos hours later.
Branch manager for the Maidstone branch of Alltrade Ltd, Dean Rogers, said one customer of his had been unable to leave for four hours due to the incident, which has blocked the exit to the complex.
He told the Kent Messenger: "I was outside at the time and heard this thud and saw the lorry had gone into the side of the warehouse.
"All the businesses couldn't go in or out, it was chaos. We have had one customer who was not able to leave, we've kept him in cups of tea though so he doesn't seem to mind too much.
"It is not the first time it has happened. It has happened two or three times in the last few years but never this bad. Lorries tend to catch the air conditioning unit."
A recovery vehicle was on the scene by 1pm, and the lorry was removed by 1.30pm.
It was making a delivery to another firm in the business park.
Managing director at R&B Star Electrical Wholesalers, Andrew Robertson, said: "It has not caused a major amount of damage but it is the third time this has happened.
"There's not much we can do to prevent it from happening, the estate just isn't quite designed for big lorries."
