Overnight closures on the M20 this week will mean long diversions for drivers.

There will be a full west-bound closure for five nights between junction 8 for Leeds and junction 6 for Blue Bell Hill and Maidstone, starting tonight at 8pm.

A diversion will be in place via the A249, the M2, and the A229 between 8pm and 6am.

The closures are to enable resurfacing works, which the highways agency estimates will be fully completed by late January 2018.

Drivers are asked to allow extra time for journeys and to expect delays.
