Magistrate makes charity leap

by Helen Wagstaff

The deputy chairman of Central Kent Bench of magistrates has taken a daring leap for charity.

Peter May, who has been a magistrate since 1991, did a parachute jump from Headcorn Aerodrome and raised £1,600 for COSMIC - Children of St Mary’s Intensive Care.

Mr May’s great niece, Grace Bradburn, tragically died in April 2007 at St Mary’s Hospital. She was aged just 13 months and was admitted after contracting chickenpox.

Examinations later revealed she had been born missing a large chunk of chromosome which meant her immune system could not fight of such viruses.
