Maidstone produced one of their poorest displays of the season as they were comfortably beaten 2-0 at Aveley in the Ryman League Premier Division on Saturday.
Ryan Doyle put the home side ahead on eight minutes when Stones keeper Jamie Turner seemed to completely misjudge the flight of his harmless-looking looped shot and the ball dropped into the net.
It was 2-0 on 63 minutes when the whole United defence was taken out by one long punt forward and Martin Tuohy confidently beat the advancing Turner from just inside the box.
Maidstone created little. Their best chance fell to James Saunders 13 minutes from time but he clipped the ball wide after being found by Ant Bodle.
Meanwhile, Danny Hockton saw an effort in each half saved by Aveley keeper Ollie Morris-Sanders.
The hosts could have scored more but Steve Butterworth was denied by Turner with Maidstone calling for offside.
Bognor Regis Town v Tonbridge
Tonbridge slipped closer to the relegation places as they went down 3-1 at Bognor Regis Town.
Jacob Walcott put the home side ahead after just two minutes - but the Angels hit back through Tom Bryant 13 minutes later.
However, the game was out of sight before half-time thanks to two goals, one from the penalty spot, from Luke Nightingale in the 26th and 42nd minute.
