Maidstone continue to struggle towards the foot of the Ryman Premier Division table, despite scoring more than once for the first time in 2010.
Peter Nott's side were undone by a winning Wealdstone goal six minutes from time on a soggy afternoon at Homelands. Ryan Ashe capitalised on a poor Stones start to make it 1-0 after just two minutes and the home side failed to find their rhythm until after the break.
James Peacock's slice of good fortune drew them level on 55 minutes as his attempted cross somehow found its way into the back of the Wealdstone net.
But, Rob Lyall's lapse in concentration in midfield allowed the visitors to mount a counter attack on 62 minutes. Danny Spendlove released striker Callum Martin, who shot past Andy Walker to round off the opportunist move.
Lyall looked to have saved both his and Maidstone's blushes on 77 minutes when he levelled the scores once more at 2-2. Antonio Gonnella's corner was headed back across the face of goal by Roland Edge before Lyall finished off the move.
Sadly, Callum Martin was to have the last laugh in the closing stages as he poked home from a rebound on 84 minutes. Andy Walker looked to have kept the ball out from the original effort, but Martin slid home from close range.
Better news for Tonbridge Angels who move into the promotion play-off places after a 2-0 win at home to Waltham Abbey.
Lee Minshull continued his rich vein of form by opening the scoring after just four minutes. Sam Long's floated cross from the right found Minshull's head in the middle of the penalty box and the striker powered past the keeper.
Tommy Warilow's men were more than good value for their win and Paul Booth doubled their advantage after 62 minutes, He got on the end of another impressive cross from Long, blasting the low ball across the face of goal into the right hand corner.
