Maidstone manager Jay Saunders says Maidstone can’t afford to lose another game if they are to achieve their play-off goal in Ryman League, Division 1 South.
Stones remain fourth in the table, despite back-to-back defeats against Faversham and Ramsgate, but the chasing pack are gathering and all have more games left than United.
Stones face a crucial week with mid-table Eastbourne Town visiting Bourne Park on Saturday before the visit of Folkestone, currently in the final play-off spot, on Wednesday.
Saunders, pictured, said: "The last two games have been disappointing and we want a game as soon as possible to get over it. It’s important that we break this run now. We can’t afford to lose another game if we want to make the play-offs.
"The most disappointing thing is that Folkestone and (sixth-placed) Worthing have both been dropping points and we have not been able to take advantage.
"We are still right in there, but realistically we could have been out of it if the other teams had picked up points."
Striker Alex Flisher is likely to be out for two weeks with an ankle injury sustained in a clash with Ramsgate keeper Danny Twyman. However defender Gavin Greenfield is back in training and could be just a week away from a return.
