Maidstone bowler Sandy Hazell is confident of returning from the Commonwealth Games in India with a medal.
The 45-year-old (pictured) is part of England’s 12-strong bowls team in Delhi and has spent the week in the controversial athletes’ village preparing for Sunday’s opening ceremony.
The Milton Regis, Sittingbourne, club member has been playing for 33 years and has been a member of the England set-up for six, winning a world title in 1996. She is hoping to add to her title haul in the JN Sports Complex, starting on Monday morning.
She said: "Our preparations have been good. We won the eight nations tournament in Delhi in April.
"I would like to think we have a good chance of coming back with a medal."
She added: "The team are a great bunch of people and some good friends. I’m sure it will be a fantastic experience."
