New pictures show ongoing work on Maidstone's road system as traffic continues to flow relatively freely.
Halfway through week three of the £5.7m project, predicted to last until at least November, lanes are closed on Fairmeadow, on the approach from Chatham.
Traffic islands have also been removed in preparation for the widening of Fairmeadow, at a later date, and the addition of two new north-bound lanes, which will allow traffic heading towards Blue Bell Hill to bypass the often congested one-way system.
When it was announced there would be lane closures during the Maidstone Bridges roadworks, residents feared long queues.
But only minor delays have been reported on the way into town on the A229, alongside the River Medway, from the direction of Chatham.
Twitter account @MaidstoneBridge, set up by Kent County Council to keep people up to date with the works, posted the two above pictures on Friday as traffic continued to flow without any problems.
In order to minimise disruption, Kent County Council has agreed not to carry out works during the morning and evening rush hours or at weekends.
The subway at the end of the High Street has been closed and will soon be filled with foam concrete.
Works have been carried out on a sub-station in the middle of the gyratory system and a wall that surrounds it
On Monday, a KCC spokesman said: "At this early stage there seems to be minimal disruption but this will be monitored throughout progress."
The work will stop in mid November and continue in mid January if it is not completed by then.
Last month KCC project manager Russell Boorman assured Maidstone businesses disruption would be kept to a minimum.
