Maidstone now has another landmark on its skyline, thanks to the erection of the Maidstone Marker.

The 60ft flashing needle overlooks the town centre from its vantage point on the banks of the River Medway next to the totem pole.

It's been erected by Maidstone council.

However, it is not flashing yet. It will be officially switched on this Thursday.
