Maidstone Council has completed its "call for sites".

It invited landowners and developers to submit potential development sites across the borough for possible inclusion in the borough's forthcoming "core strategy" planning brief.

In total 160 sites for housing were suggested and another 15 for mixed housing and employment developement.

Council leader Chris Garland said that just because developers were promoting the sites did not mean they would necessarily be adopted by the borough council.

However, the council believes it will have to provide 14,800 new homes by 2031.
