Maidstone Ladies produced an encouraging performance to record a fine 3-2 win at Chelmsford 2nds in the East Premier Division.
A flowing period of play in the first half led to a goal from Lizzie Daniels, who beat a string of players over a 40-yard run and finished by slotting the ball between the Chelmsford keeper’s legs.
A second soon followed when Hannah Durston deflected a Cara Brogan shot into the net.
Chelmsford fought back to level before half-time, with the Maidstone defenders trailing in the wake of the pacey Chelmsford attack.
However, Brogan scored the winner after the break.
The ladies will look to complete a league double over Colchester tomorrow (Saturday), while the men face fellow strugglers Banbury as they search for their first win of the season.
