Maidstone boss Andy Ford says it’s time for the talking to stop and results to arrive.
The Stones are in desperate need of points after six consecutive defeats in all competitions and, although encouraged by recent performances, Ford insists the results need to come sooner rather than later.
Maidstone head to lowly Hendon on Saturday, second from bottom in the Ryman League Premier Division and without a win since a 2-1 victory at Hastings on January 8.
Ford (pictured) admitted he was frustrated by his side’s run but is convinced a win will turn around the club’s fortunes.
He said: "We are just desperate for a win and I’m sure once we get one, things will turn. We have to do our jobs, it’s all well and good talking about being stronger and having better performances but it is a results business at the end of the day."
With striker Gary Wharton injured and Joe Vines leaving, the Stones manager has been in the transfer market again, resulting in former Dartford forward Jack Pallen and ex-Gillingham trainee defender Ronayne Marsh-Brown joining the squad.
Midfielder Dane Sutton has left after just four appearances, while promising full-back Tom Mills has signed a contract keeping him at the club until the end of next season.
The Stones’ defence should be strengthened by the return of central defender Laurence Harvey, who has completed his suspension. Midfielder Michael Phillips could be in contention for a place in the starting line-up after returning from injury on Tuesday.
