Maidstone manager Peter Nott has brought Simon Petit and Colin Richmond back to the club.

Both have had previous spells with the Stones and arrive after a busy week which saw captain Peter Hawkins depart to rivals Tonbridge.

Petit, 28, previously played for the club in the Kent League under Jim Ward and joins from Ramsgate.

Also adding options to Nott’s midfield is Richmond (pictured). The former Maidstone youngster arrives from Sittingbourne where he was voted player of the season. He’s played with the Brickies for the last two seasons.

On Hawkins’ departure, a statement on the club’s website said: "We have tried hard to persuade Peter to stay but unfortunately we also have to take into consideration the reduced budget we have available this season and ultimately Peter feels it is in his best interests to move on to pastures new."
