Maidstone manager Peter Nott says ill-discipline and suspensions are costing his side points this season.

Stones had three players banned for the 1-0 Ryman League, Premier Division defeat to basement boys Horsham on Saturday and the Maidstone boss revealed he told the players afterwards that the result was as much the fault of those who were on the sidelines.

Adam Marsh and James Peacock were serving the first of three-match bans for red cards in the FA Cup loss at Whitehawk, while Joe Vines was sitting out the second game of three after his sending-off at previous club Sittingbourne.

Nott (pictured) said: "There is no way we would have lost that game, where we needed to grind out a result, if we had Peacock and Vines playing.

"We have been hurt by injuries and suspensions all season. It is not just the players on the pitch on Saturday who let us down, it is those suspended on the sidelines. I told them that in the dressing room."

Vines serves the final game of his ban against Carshalton at Homelands on Saturday but Peacock and Marsh will also miss Tuesday’s trip to Cray.

Marc Corneille (calf) remains sidelined and may need to see a specialist but Jermaine Darlington and Danny Hockton could return.
