Maidstone director of rugby Andy Foley says the club are eagerly anticipating their RFU Senior Vase trip to Newmarket, knowing victory would leave them just one win from Twickenham.
Maidstone booked their place in the London regional final away at the Suffolk side with an incredible home win over Folkestone on Saturday.
In a game of two halves, Maidstone produced a scintillating first-half display to rack up a 50-0 advantage, only for the visitors to rally for an eventual 55-33 defeat.
Maidstone now face Newmarket, who are struggling in London 3 North East, on Saturday, March 17.
Foley said: "We have league games against Crawley and Eastbourne to come first, but it should be a good day.
"We’ll go up there on the coach in the morning and hopefully have a few supporters.
"We want to take it one game at a time, but it’s a good opportunity for us to move a step closer to playing at Twickenham."
Neighbours Aylesford Bulls made the final of the RFU Intermediate Cup at Twickers last May, and Foley is keen to follow in their footsteps.
He said: "We saw what Aylesford did last year. There was no jealousy from us, but we would like it to be us this year."
