Two Maidstone schools have won a prestigious award that celebrates pupil achievement at GCSE level.
Maidstone Grammar School for Girls, in Buckland Road, and Invicta Grammar School, in Huntsman Lane, have qualified for the SSAT Educational Outcomes Award.
It is organised by the Schools, Students and Teachers Network and is given to the nation’s top 10% of schools for progress made by pupils between their key stage 2 and GCSE results based on data from the Department for Education.
Winners were informed last week.
Last year Invicta saw 99% of its pupils achieve at least the minimum expected progress in Maths and English.
At MGGS 92% of its pupils made the expected progress in English and 97% in Maths.
Both have been invited to collect their awards at a ceremony in London on Tuesday, May 12.
