Maidstone slumped to a 3-0 home defeat to Canvey Island in the Ryman League Premier Division at Homelands on Saturday.
The Stones had the better of the first half hour with Danny Hockton, on two occasions, and James Pinnock going close.
But Canvey began to dominate and after 32 minutes they took the lead when Craig Davidson’s cross was met by Rob King and his header flew in.
The visitors doubled their advantage ten minutes later when Greg Cohen found James Rowe and he rounded keeper Jamie Turner to score.
Canvey got the only goal of a poor second half when Rowe lobbed Turner from the corner of box for a third.
Stones’ only shot after the break came when Nick Barnes’ free-kick found Peter Hawkins (pictured) but his effort was cleared off the line.
Two second half goals in quick succession saw Tonbridge Angels defeated 3-2 at Ashford (Middx) in the Ryman League Premier Division on Saturday.
Angels fell behind Brian Haule netted in the far corner, but Liam Harwood’s second goal for Angels brought them level before the break.
A fine solo goal from Paul Booth gave the visitors the lead only for Ashford to hit back with goals from Byron Harrison and Paul Johnson.
