Maidstone suffered a home defeat to Kingstonian in the Ryman League Premier Division on Saturday.
The Stones had better of first half, but Kingstonian came out strongly after the break and took the lead on 51 minutes.
Dean Lodge burst past Tom Parkinson only for Jay Saunders to make a desperate last-ditch challenge that resulted in him conceding a penalty. Bob Traynor successfully converted the spot-kick for the opening goal.
Stones hit back after 58 minutes when James Pinnock’s persistence took him into the box and he was brought down. Pinnock took penalty which was saved by keeper Luke Garrard but Matthew Wright bundled in rebound.
However, the referee ordered the kick to be taken again following an infringement and Pinnock (pictured) made no mistake the second time.
Stones keeper Jamie Turner made a great save to deny Lodge on 66 minutes but was at fault with Kingstonian’s second goal four minutes later.
Lodge hit low shot that Turner should have saved, but he allowed the ball to trickle into the net.
Stones pushed for an equaliser and on 85 minutes a diving header from Lynden Rowland was kept out by a great save from Garrard.
Three minutes later Turner should have controlled a Kingstonian ball forward on the edge of his box but he let in substitute Christian Jolley to score the third.
Kingstonian had a couple of stoppage time chances, while Jermaine Darlington had shot cleared off the line at the other end.
Tonbridge came from behind to defeat Aveley 3-2 in the Ryman League Premier Division at Longmead on Saturday
Matt Johnson gave Aveley the lead before Tom Bryant headed in Paul Booth's cross for the equaliser.
Junior Dadson restored Aveley's advantage only for Booth to head the ball past Jamie Lunan to make it all-square.
Angels then hit the winner when Lee Worgan's long goalkick was flicked on by Mark Cumberbatch and the ball flew into the net.
