Steve Butler says the Stones’ tough run over the next fortnight will be a good test of how far their Ryman League, Premier Division revival has come.

Andy Ford’s side take on new leaders Sutton on Saturday before a run which will also see them face seventh-placed Cray at Homelands in the league on Tuesday night, top-half side Carshalton and second-placed Kingstonian.

Stones have won one and drawn two of their league games since Ford took over, assisted by Butler, after the departure of former boss Peter Nott.

Butler (pictured) said that Saturday’s 2-1 FA Trophy win at Cray gave them added confidence going into the tough schedule.

He said: "We have a run against some of the top sides coming up. It will be a good measure of where we are.

"It would be good to keep the improvement going because these sides are at the top of the table where Maidstone want to be.

"We want to put as much room as possible between us and the bottom three."
