Maidstone temporary boss Peter Nott says he wants to remain at the helm next year – once a season of "mad panic" is at an end.

The Ryman League, Premier Division season finishes at Kingstonian on Saturday and Nott, pictured, says he wants to continue in the role he began in February after the departure of joint-managers Lloyd Hume and Alan Walker.

He said: "Tony Cornwall (assistant manager) and I came in during such a mad panic, we want to sit down and talk about things which would need to be in place for the club to succeed next season – things like sorting out proper training facilities.

"On a personal level, I have found it difficult with work and football. I have ended up spending probably six days a week on football matters.

"But this was not like a normal season. I like to think that I could balance it out, given a full pre-season."

Nott has already earmarked potential signings, adding: "We need to strengthen and there will be a couple of our players who will be attracted by other clubs in the summer. We’ll have to sit down with all the players once the season is over."

Midfielder Mark Corneille will miss the Kingstonian game with a calf injury.
