Negotiations between Maidstone United chairman Paul Bowden-Brown and investor Oliver Ash are progressing positively, according to the club.

The pair have spent the past three weeks discussing the future of the Stones after Mr Ash sought assurances over a £100,000 payment made to the club more than two years ago.

Mr Bowden-Brown said: "I can honestly say they have been positive discussions. We have both shared our points of view.

"We are both of the same mind and he is currently considering a suggestion which I have put forward."
