Maidstone hope to unveil a major new signing in Saturday's FA Trophy clash at Bromley.
The Stones travel to Hayes Lane for the third qualifying round tie with their injury crisis gradually easing but joint-bosses Lloyd Hume and Alan Walker hope to have completed a major transfer coup to boost their starting line-up by then.
Hume wouldn’t reveal the player’s identity but said: "If it happens it would be a massive signing for the club.
"Over the past couple of weeks the chairman Paul Bowden-Brown has seen where we need strengthening and he is supporting us with this. We are grateful to him for that."
Jermaine Darlington and Roland Edge are both rated 50/50 to return after being sidelined for much of the past month while Gabriel Odunaike will have a fitness test after making a quicker-than-expected recovery from a hamstring injury.
However, Dean Hernandez-Bradshaw and James Peacock (pictured) remain a fortnight away while Ashley Ulph (knee ligament) is expected to be three to four weeks away from a return.
Another player missing will be Matthew Wright, who has returned to Crystal Palace after scoring just two goals in 11 games during a two-month loan.
Hume said: "I’m 100 per cent sure we can get a result at Bromley. Make no mistake, they will not want to lose to us and we want to beat them. I’m confident we can deliver on the day."
