Question marks hang over the Maidstone goalkeeping jersey ahead of Saturday's clash with Ramsgate at Bourne Park.
Charlie Mitten popped his hip out of place during Wednesday’s 4-2 home win over Godalming and could barely move during the closing stages.
With no substitute keeper, Mitten struggled to full-time but the Stones may now have to recruit a replacement at short notice.
Stones boss Jay Saunders (pictured) is faced with a quandary. He said: "That’s something we’ll have to assess. It’s not looking good, so we’ll have to see what we can do about it.
"Charlie’s old enough to know if his body’s right, so it’s something we’ll have to deal with.
"We haven’t got a second goalkeeper. I’ve been looking, but lads want to play first-team football and I can’t guarantee them that because Charlie’s been superb."
Defender Gavin Greenfield could return for the Stones after missing the Godalming game through injury, adding further depth to a squad Saunders firmly believes is capable of lasting the distance and fighting for the league title.
