Discussions with potential investors in Maidstone’s bid to return to the County Town continue to be positive.

Six meetings have already been held with organisations targeted by the club, with the aim of attracting six-figure sums to fund the return to a site at James Whatman Way where the club intend to play on an artificial surface, which will also be available for community use.

The Stones need to raise £1.2m to fund the project, with a further £400,000 of the overall cost being met by directors Oliver Ash and Terry Casey and another lump sum expected from a Football Foundation grant.

Club officials have drawn up a hit-list of 45 organisations which will be contacted with a view to investing in the project and chief executive Bill Williams (pictured) revealed that detailed brochures, breaking down the cost of the development, have been released to potential investors this week.

He said: "I have attended three of the six meetings which have been set up. Oliver Ash is also conducting some.

"Everything is positive so far, so far nobody has said no.

"The detailed brochures have only been out there since Tuesday. People now want time to take a closer look at the details. Talking is only one part of it, people have to take a good look at what is being put to them."
