Andy Ford is hoping the right Maidstone team turn up for him as they prepare to face in-form Lowestoft on Saturday.

Inconsistency has proved costly for the Stones in recent outings and they face a daunting week with a game against third-placed Kingstonian to follow on Tuesday night in Ashford.

Stones boss Ford (pictured) said: "I’m hoping we can pick up four points from our next two games, I would settle for that.

"It’s going to be all about us on the day against Lowestoft and if we can perform like we did against Carshalton recently, then we can give anyone a go.

"But then if we perform like we did in the second half against Harlow or the first against Horsham, then we’ll get nothing."

Ford’s squad is still looking thin and, although Joe Vines is back from suspension and youngster Alex Flisher is well on the road to recovering from a groin injury, the Stones will be without the unavailable Danny Lye.

Lowestoft sit fifth in the Ryman League, Premier Division and are unbeaten in 11 league and cup games. Their last league defeat came in early September.
