Peter Nott says he hopes Maidstone can begin a new era at the club with victory over Aveley on Saturday in front of the club’s new owner.

The protracted takeover of the club by Oliver Ash is expected to be completed on Friday afternoon, with outgoing chairman Paul Bowden-Brown revealing he was severing ties with the club after Tuesday’s 2-1 defeat at Cray - rock-bottom Stones’ third defeat on the spin.

Stones manager Nott (pictured) said: "I understand the new owners will be in place for Saturday’s game, so what better time to get a win."

Nott added: "I’m sure we have got the character and ability to turn things around and hopefully once everything has settled down, I’ll be given the time to do just that."

James Peacock returns from a three-match ban against Aveley but Simon Pettit will miss out as he needs a scan on a leg injury.

Antonio Gonnella could be out for a month after injuring ankle ligaments and Adrian Stone is a doubt with an ankle injury. Ashley Ulph has returned to training but will not feature.
