Maidstone's injury nightmare has worsened but joint-boss Alan Walker says the crisis has brought his squad together.

Stones play two Ryman League Premier Division games in four days, at Harrow Borough on Saturday and at home to Sutton on Tuesday, but face mounting problems with an injury list in double figures.

Walker, pictured, and fellow boss Lloyd Hume have a problem down the left after Jermaine Darlington suffered an ankle injury in Tuesday’s 4-3 Championship Manager Cup win at Romford.

Other injured players include Shannon O’Donnovan, who will miss out with a swollen knee, and Roland Edge, who remains sidelined with a torn calf.

Dean Hernandez-Bradshaw and James Peacock could both be two weeks away with ankle injuries, while Ashley Ulph will be sidelined for at least another fortnight with a knee ligament injury.

Ant Bodle remains out (broken nose), while striker Gabriel Odunaike has a hamstring injury.

Even goalkeeper Jamie Turner is nursing a groin injury, but should play.

Walker said: "The young lads who have come in have done well. You learn a lot about your squad at a time like this.

"The younger players who have come in don’t want to let anyone down and the older players want to help the youngsters. It can bring everyone together."
