HEALTHY eating would usually mean getting rid of unwanted lumps and bumps, but one woman took on a bigger than average lump when she embarked on her latest diet.

Kathryn Norman, from Allington, Maidstone, discovered the large lump halfway through a box of Kellogg’s Special K, after starting the cereal’s Love Your Jeans Again diet.

Mrs Norman said: "Imagine my horror when I tipped my cereal into my bowl for my evening meal only to find this."

"I haven’t a clue what it is, and I’m not sure I really want to know, seeing as I have already eaten three bowls full from this box. It looks like some kind of dried skin."

Mrs Norman filled out an online complaint form, but has not yet received a reply.

Rachel Fellows, UK corporate communications manager for Kellogg’s, told the KM Group: "We’re sorry to hear Mrs Norman found something strange in her cereal.

"It very much looks to us like a lump of small flakes that have stuck together.

"This occasionally happens but normally the people running the production line catch them before they make it into the packs." She added: "We’d like to thank Mrs Norman for offering to send it back to us and when we receive it, we’ll investigate and come back to her with a full explanation of what it is and how it got there."
