We might have missed out on invites to Prince William’s nuptials but people in Maidstone can celebrate the wedding of their own Royal couple.

While the rest of the world watches the Prince wed Kate Middleton on Friday, April 29, guests at Turkey Mill, Ashford Road, will see Karen Thomas, 26, and Lee Durden, 27, also say I do.

The couple from Ditton have been dubbed Maidstone’s Royal couple by Benedict Smith, kmfm’s breakfast presenter.

In an interview on this morning's show (Tuesday), Karen, 26, said she is not worried her day will be outshined.

She said: "We are quite pleased we are getting married on the same day as the Royals.

"We booked it first so they will be sharing the day with us. We are going to have a lovely day and they will as well."
