Officers investigating reported burglaries in Maidstone have arrested a man.

Police patrols were in Holtye Crescent, Shepway at around 2pm on Monday when they stopped a man who was acting suspiciously.

The 25-year-old local man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of burglary.

Officers later discovered a nearby house had been broken into and the suspect remains in police custody while the investigation is on-going.
