A man, woman and their dog have died after being hit by a car.

They were walking along Thurnham Lane in Bearsted near Maidstone at about 1.40pm on Saturday afternoon when the collision occurred.

Police say a black BMW X5 was involved in the crash.

Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service.

The man and woman, aged in their 60s, and their dog were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have confirmed no arrests have been made and the BMW driver remained at the scene.

Thurnham Lane was closed yesterday afternoon while emergency services worked at the scene.
