A man was left with multiple cuts to his stomach after being attacked last night.
Police were called to the Shepway estate in Maidstone at around 10.30pm after reports of the assault in an alleyway between Plains Avenue and Cumberland Avenue.
The victim is in his 20s and police say he suffered four small cuts to his abdomen, although were unable to specify what caused them.
He told officers he believes the assailant may have been in possession of a weapon, although police were also unable to specify what the weapon was.
The suspect is a white man, who was wearing a dark hooded top with a red emblem on the front, dark jogging bottoms and trainers.
Detective Sergeant Jim Farley said: "Officers will be making enquiries in the area and we are asking anybody who saw the incident or the suspect running from the scene to come forward."
The incident comes less than a week after the death of Shepway father Jamie Simmons, who was stabbed on the estate last week.
