A 28-year-old who allegedly barged into a Maidstone home uninvited before damaging a television and stealing from the property has appeared in court.
Harry Smith went to a house which belonged to someone he knew in Ruskin Grove on Monday.
He knocked on the door and, when it was answered, it's reported he entered uninvited.
During his arrest and while at the police station, he allegedly assaulted two officers too.
A police spokesman said: “Once inside (the property), it is alleged the man caused damage to a television before stealing some property and leaving the premises.
“Officers attended the scene and, following inquiries to locate the suspect, a man was arrested and taken into custody.”
Smith, of no fixed address, was later charged with burglary, criminal damage, two counts of assaulting an emergency worker and breaching a restraining order.
He appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court yesterday where he was remanded to a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on Thursday.
