Police have charged a man after he failed to stop for officers in Maidstone.

Jimmy McCann, 36, of White Horse Lane, Otham was arrested on Monday, November 20 and the car was found elsewhere.

He was released under investigation and last Friday was charged with aggravated vehicle taking, driving whilst disqualified, failing to stop a vehicle when required by police, failing to provide a breath specimen for analysis and driving without insurance.

The offence of aggravated vehicle taking combines the taking of a vehicle without the vehicle without the owner's consent with driving it dangerously, causing injury, or causing damage to the vehicle or other property.

McCann was remanded to Maidstone Crown Court on Friday December 22.
