A man has appeared at court after being charged with the attempted murder of a pensioner.
Police launched an investigation into a stabbing in Barming at around 7.30pm on Monday.
Paramedics also attended the scene in Heath Road and the street was sealed off for 16 hours before the cordon was lifted at 12.30pm yesterday.
A man, in his 70s, was taken to a London hospital where he was treated for injuries, which were not described as life-threatening.
A knife was recovered by police in the Fant area.
John Lowe, 51, of no fixed address, was arrested and also taken to hospital with minor injuries. He was later transferred to a police station before being charged with attempted murder.
He appeared via video link at Medway Magistrates' Court this morning.
He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on November 1.
